Aura Tullamore Leisure Centre:

The Aura Leisure Centre boasts a 25 metre swimming pool, fun and kiddies pools. Gym, sauna and steam rooms. Various courses ran throughout the year eg. Yoga, Pilates, Aquafit, Slimmers Club, Swimming lessons etc.

Grand Canal Cruising:

The waterway flows right across Offaly, from near Edenderry in the East to Shannon Harbour in the West. Canal cruisers or barges can be hired from Celtic Canal Cruisers (Ph: 057 9321861). Travel at a leisurely pace through its locks and bridges and enjoy an attractive rural setting with abundant wildlife.

Equestrian Activities:

There are many top quality facilities available in this area. Trek through the country trails and the Slieve Bloom Mountains or just improve your technique in the indoor and outdoor arenas.

Annaharvey Farm Equestrian Centre, just 2K from Barony House, offers lots of horse riding available in all disciplines, regular show jumping, cross-country and dressage events.

Greyhound Racing:

Purpose built race track in Mullingar just 30Km from Tullamore. Racing every Tuesday and Sunday night.

Walking:

Forest walks are developed in the Slieve Bloom Environment Park, Durrow, Charleville, Garryhinch and Blackwood. These are sign posted town trails. The Grand Canal Way can be enjoyed on a new towpath trail from Tullamore to Edenderry. A geological trail near Cadamstown is a joy to experience.

Fishing:

The areas is excellent for fishing, trout can be caught in the majestic Shannon and its tributaries – Brosna, Little Brosna, Suck, Silver River and Pallas Lake. Coarse fishing - pike, bream, roach and perch can be fished in the Grand Canal.

Horse Racing:

Kilbeggan Racecourse is just 12 Km from Tullamore and hosts 8 race meetings throughout the year.

Bowls:

Outdoor bowls in park, 5 minutes walk. Indoor bowls at the Heritage. Open 7 days a week. Tuition given, bowls and overshoes provided. Bar and food facilities. Just 25 minutes drive.

Bowling:

Cosmic bowling, just 5 minutes drive. 12 lanes, open 7 days a week. Refreshments and food available.

Football and Hurling:

Facilities for watching Gaelic football and the ancient game of hurling are available throughout the county. Just ask for details.

Evening Entertainment:

Tullamore is well renowned for its hospitality. On arrival, we provide our guests with an independent guide to the many restaurants, bars and cafes in the town. Stroll around town for a bite to eat in any of the local restaurants. There is a good choice available to suit your taste and pocket. Enjoy a drink or two in the pubs, cafe bars and hotels, entertainment in most establishments. Browse in the shopping centres and the many beautiful boutiques where there is a wonderful selection for all tastes.
